The Philadelphia Center provides opportunities for professional exploration, intellectual development, and personal growth — in the heart of one of America’s largest and most dynamic cities.

Our program features over 900 field placements, one-of-a-kind seminars, and independent living in an exciting urban setting. As an intern, you’ll work four days a week in a well-supervised, unpaid position for academic credit. Our students are assured of receiving substantial work experience and exploring possible career options. Through our city seminars and electives you’ll gain insights into urban life and open yourself to new areas of personal, professional, and academic growth and inquiry.

You’ll also find a place to live, sharpen your ability to budget time and money, learn how to navigate the city, and discover on your own its many attractions.

Students must be enrolled in an American college or university to attend The Philadelphia Center. Students will receive academic credits from Hope College-- if approval from their home campus has been obtained -- for their semester in Philadelphia. Click here for a list of upcoming semester dates.
